Define Scope

List all market destinations and product uses to map required standards (CE/FCC/UL/FDA/REACH/RoHS/Prop65). Identify critical materials and high-risk components (batteries, chargers, coatings) early to avoid redesign after testing.

Choosing Labs

Select accredited labs (CNAS, ISO/IEC 17025) with experience in your SKU category. Request turnaround time, quote by test, and sample retention policy. For speed, pre-test at a local lab near the factory and confirm with a recognized brand lab for certification marks.

Sample Plan

  • Use golden samples for initial compliance testing.
  • For ongoing orders, pull production samples during DPI or PSI for spot checks.
  • Label samples with lot codes and test IDs; document chain of custody.
  • If failures occur, run root cause and corrective action before retesting.

Reports & Traceability

Store full test reports, photos, and material declarations with version control. Include report numbers on packaging or DoC (Declaration of Conformity). Keep expiry reminders for time-limited certificates and re-test when materials or suppliers change.
